Penelope Disick Had A Heartbreaking Reaction To Kourtney Kardashian’s Engagement

Kourtney Kardashian’s relationship with musician Travis Barker was revealed in January 2021. Kardashian and Barker got engaged in October 2021 when Barker proposed to her at a beachfront hotel in Montecito, California. The Kardashians recently gave viewers a front-row seat to Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s engagement, including Penelope Disick’s shocking reaction to the news, on the May 5th episode.

According to Eonline, on the May 5th episode of The Kardashians, Travis Barker proposed to Kourtney Kardashian. Travis’ three children gathered with Kourtney’s mother and sisters for an intimate celebratory dinner following the romantic proposal. We all know that the Blink-182 drummer proposed to his girlfriend while surrounded by roses at the Rosewood Miramar hotel in Montecito, Calif., but we didn’t know all the drama that followed the momentous occasion.

Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Khloe Kardashian nearly ruined the surprise by arriving too early at the proposal location, but Travis was able to lead his lady to his beachside setup and pull off the heart-warming surprise, which culminated in a stunning engagement ring on Kourtney’s finger.

While Travis’ words were not captured on video, Kourtney revealed in a confessional, “I feel like I’m living in a fairy tale. I couldn’t have dreamed of anything more perfect. I’ve never in my whole life dreamt of getting married until Travis and until this relationship.” Kourtney and Travis joined the Kardashian-Jenners and Travis’ children Landon, Alabama, and stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya for a special dinner after exchanging hugs and kisses.

Kourtney didn’t want her ex-husband Scott Disick‘s kids Mason, Penelope, and Reign to find out about her engagement online, so she left the dinner table to FaceTime them, only to receive a heartbroken response from Penelope. “Hang up,” Penelope demanded after breaking down into tears.

Kourtney revealed in a confessional that her daughter took the news “hard,” saying, “I think it’s a big change for her. And even though she loves Travis, I think she doesn’t know what that means. Like, you know, is that taking me away?” Though Reign didn’t weep, he did describe Kourtney’s engagement announcement as “not exciting,” and Mason ignored her FaceTime calls.

Kris chose not to invite the Disick children because she believed they were too young to grasp what was going on and she didn’t want to lie to Scott about the proposal. Regarding Scott’s reaction to the news, Khloe, who was in the same room as Kourtney with their sisters, stated that he responded, “You guys are gonna kick me out now. I’m not involved in the family.”

When Kendall questioned if she sympathized with Scott’s situation, Kourtney answered “yes,” but later confessed that she has no intention of making her engagement about her ex. Kim jumped in to support Kourtney and said,  “Are we so f*cking crazy that we’re talking about [him]? Can we talk about this tomorrow and let them enjoy their night?” That ended the discussion, and the family moved on to celebrating Kravis’ future together.
