Bella Hadid is one of the most famous and highest-paid supermodels. Unsurprisingly she has a huge fan following on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, etc. Now she has slammed Instagram for shadow banning her posts.
Bella took to Instagram on Friday to post stories about the ongoing feud between Palestine and Israel. The model has since called out Instagram for shadow banning her due to those stories relating to the conflict. Apart from that, she shared a shot of her teary eye amid heightened violence in the Middle East.
‘My Instagram has disabled me from posting on my story – pretty much only when it is Palestine based I’m going to assume. When I post about Palestine I get immediately shadow banned and almost 1 million less of you see my stories and posts’
Hadid has 51 million followers on Instagram. She shared another screenshot that illustrated restrictions on her account. The shot was captioned, ‘Won’t let me repost…for 2 hours now.’
This all started after Bella went on to share her views about the conflict going on in the Middle East. Its that time of the year when the Islamic holy month of Ramadan and the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Passover. Being of Dutch and Palestinian descent herself, it was a very usual thing to mention in her account.
Bella shared a clip that appeared to show the Israeli army at the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. She was ‘trying to re-post from Eye On Palestine all day,’ and had penned ‘long messages’. Hadid shared multiple frames of posts that did not appear to be uploaded to her Instagram Stories despite her attempts.
Instagram has done this previously with other celebs as well. It might be done to stay off the political radar and not cause a ruckus among the followers. However, we have to notice the major hindrance when it comes to freedom of speech.
