Batista had a successful career in Vince McMahon’s WWE. The Animal left the sports and entertainment juggernaut in the 2010s to pursue an acting career in Hollywood. The rest, as they say, is history.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star opened a tattoo studio in the Tampa Bay area earlier this year. The Kennedy Boulevard-situated tattoo parlor is a joint venture between the Hollywood star and his personal tattoo artist, John Kural.

Batista talked about bringing the tattoo studio to the Tampa Bay area during a conversation with the Tampa Bay Times. The wrestler-turned-actor said setting up a tattoo studio had been his longtime dream.

“I’m just the money guy. This is completely personal for me. I don’t need this, my career is doing great, but this is like a clubhouse for me. I wanted to create an environment for people who want to get a tattoo but they don’t want to go into one of those tattoo parlors.

“It’s intimidating and scary and your average person is uncomfortable in that environment. This is a personal investment. It’s not going to be making me big money, I know that but I have an investment in this because this is my community and this is what I love. These are my people.”

Somewhere during the interview, Batista revealed that he will finish filming “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume III” this month. The film is slated for release on May 5, 2023.
