Amy Schumer always has a joyful expression on her face, but it isn’t always the case that folks who laugh don’t have difficulties. Amy’s life is in jeopardy, which may surprise fans. After an Oscars seat filler joke with Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons, Amy Schumer said that she received death threats “so bad” that the Secret Service was called in.

Amy Schumer claimed on Wednesday that one of her Oscar jokes from 2022 prompted so many death threats that the Secret Service was forced to intervene. On Howard Stern’s Sirius XM show, the comic stated that her seat filler joke with Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons generated a lot of ire from individuals who thought she ‘disrespected’ Dunst.

“The death threats were so bad the Secret Service reached out to me about that bit. I was like. I think you have the wrong number. It’s Amy, not Will. The misogyny is unbelievable.”

The Los Angeles Police Department informed Schumer about the threats. During the pre-planned and Dunst-approved skit, Schumer mistook the Oscar winner for a seat filler and threw her out of her seat, before continuing to converse with Plemons. The star of Life & Beth attempted to soothe enraged Oscar viewers the day after the ceremony.
