Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of the biggest celebrities in the world right now, both literally and figuratively. Johnson is also a dominant force in Hollywood and brings huge star power to any movie he is a part of. The XFL also made a huge announcement recently.

The new XFL will be launching in 2023, with The Rock, his ex-wife and business partner, Dany Garcia, and RedBird Capital Partners, being at the helm of the project. They bought it from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon after two failed attempts at launching it.

As previously reported, The Rock officially unveiled the logo for the XFL in a hype video. Due to this, The Rock was even called out for jacking the new XFL logo.

The XFL took to Twitter and officially announced that they have formed a partnership with the NFL Alumni Academy to develop players ahead of their re-launch in 2023.

The NFL Alumni Academy holds an in-season training program in Canton, Ohio in order to create a pool of players who will be part of teams, if a spot opens up on the roster. This is assuming an injury or other issue takes place, which would leave them short on the depth chart.

Today, we’re announcing an exclusive partnership with @NFLA_Academy. Together, we will enhance the player ecosystem by extending player cycles and creating more opportunities for players to play professional football.

The Rock previously announced the date for the start of training camp. XFL players will report on January 3, 2023. We’ll have to see how the partnership will end up helping XFL in the long run.
