Stephan Bonnar is a bona fide legend of UFC. The light heavyweight played the underdog through much of his career and became famous for his tenacity. Unfortunately, Bonnar’s retirement was interrupted by tragedy.

Bonnar’s Nevada home was completely destroyed by fire earlier this week. The Henderson Fire Department told TMZ Sports the call came in at around 2:40 PM on Monday. By the time help arrived, smoke was billowing out of the house.

Windy weather and close proximity to other houses made the firefighter’s job even more difficult. Clark County Fire Department served as backup. After an hour of work, the fire was out.

Stephan Bonnar’s wife, Andrea, made a post on her business’ Facebook page addressing the fire. Thought nobody was injured, the family suffered a great deal of loss. Andrea said the couple lost everything in the fire.

“I am just jumping on to let you know our house burned today and we have lost everything.”

Stephan Bonner will now have to rebuild and replace all the things that were destroyed. Fortunately, nobody was hurt. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
