Will Smith did something unexpected, and it happened at the Oscars. Smith recently slapped Chris Rock in the face for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Soon after, the rapper realized his mistake and apologized. Following the incident, he was also seen at Vanity Fair’s Oscar Party.

Will Smith partied at Vanity Fair’s annual Oscar party after the slap was broadcast around the world. At the exclusive event, the “King Richard” star was seen dancing with the Best Actor Oscar in hand with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, and his children and even rapped some of his classic tunes for a cheering crowd. Chris Rock, who Smith slapped earlier at the Academy Awards, did not attend the VF party.

Smith, on the other hand, arrived after midnight and went straight to the dance floor. When the star and his family arrived, DJ D-Nice was spinning tunes and was playing a number of songs by Smith as a tribute. Smith rapped and danced to his hits from the 1990s, including “Summertime,” “Miami,” and “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It.” Jada was by his side on the dance floor, as were their children, Jaden and Willow.

“Congratulations to Will Smith!” D-Nice exclaimed over the microphone, extolling Smith’s virtues as a close friend. The audience applauded as Smith danced, but his wild altercation with Rock on Hollywood’s biggest stage had divided the town.“I was embarrassed, I was embarrassed for our industry,” said one influential Hollywood exec who’d brought their young kid with them to the awards.

According to reports, many attendees at the live event initially thought that the Smith slap was a stunt and only realized it was real when Smith yelled at the comedian, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f–king mouth!” At the Vanity Fair party, David Spade, who co-starred with Rock on “Saturday Night Live,” told Us that Smith’s attack “set a dangerous precedent,” and comic Kathy Griffin had earlier posted online, “Now we all have to worry about who wants to be the next Will Smith in comedy clubs and theatres.”

Tiffany Haddish, a comedian, was overheard at the VF party saying that Rock should’ve checked with Smith first about the jokes and that if she’d been insulted like that, she hopes her husband would defend her. Sean “Diddy” Combs, who had offered to mediate a truce between Smith and Rock from the Oscars stage after the show, informed that the feud had already been resolved.

“That’s not a problem. That’s over. I can confirm that,” Diddy told of the beef without elaborating on further details of how Smith and Rock had reconciled. “It’s all love,” he said. “They’re brothers.”

According to reports, Lupita Nyong’o, Lena Waithe, and Trevor Noah all embraced Smith as he arrived at the Vanity Fair party with his family. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
