Gable Steveson’s excellent performance at the Tokyo Olympics last year helped establish himself as a huge name in the world of sports. WWE went the extra mile in getting Steveson to sign a contract as even Vince McMahon personally met up with Steveson to sign him. Steveson also has an interesting desire for his character in WWE.
WWE finally managed to sign Gable Steveson to a contract last year, ending rumors that Steveson might also go to the UFC. It was also previously reported that Gable Steveson signed a unique contract with WWE, which is exclusive in nature.
Gable Steveson also previously admitted that Brock Lesnar was a huge influence in him signing with WWE as Lesnar’s career path was something Steveson found helpful. Lesnar also gave him once-in-a-lifetime advice during his freshman year in college.
While speaking on the MMA Hour podcast, Gable Steveson talked about his character in WWE. Steveson revealed that he wants to be a babyface first, then become a heel, similar to what Roman Reigns did.
“Good [guy] that goes to bad. Start off good, make the fans love you, then turn into a bad guy — kind of like Roman Reigns did.”
Gable Steveson also said that his career will start when WrestleMania 38 hits. It remains to be seen whether Gable Steveson will find success in WWE or not.
