Kanye West was supposed to perform at the Grammy awards, but was pulled out following controversy. The Game let the world know through his Instagram post that Ye’s Grammy performance has been pulled out of the lineup. Now, Kanye’s own reps have confirmed the news and provided details.

Kanye’s rep confirmed the news to Variety on Saturday. They said it was true that the rapper wouldn’t be hitting the stage in a few weeks. Although, Ye and Grammy’s don’t have the best relationship, he was supposed to take part in the Awards ceremony as a performer.

Everyone predicted that the Grammys ultimately pulled Kanye due to his recent comments about Pete Davidson and others on social media. The rep confirmed that indeed was because of his “concerning online behavior.”

The Recording Academy clearly felt that Kanye’s unpredictability might translate to a fiasco in a live setting. Ye’s involvement with the Grammys was something that hadn’t been public until now. When the first round of official performers was announced, Kanye wasn’t even on the list.

However, the cat had to be out of the bag. Ye’s pal The Game took to IG with a lengthy caption decrying the decision to uninvite Ye. He likened The Recording Academy’s decision to censorship and even went as far ahead as invoking slavery.
