Bill Cosby faced one final legal hurdle to his freedom. Cosby was released from prison last Summer after a judge overturned his conviction in a sexual assault case. The comedian just needed to get the United States Supreme Court’s stamp of approval on the original judge’s decision.

Cosby was victorious with the highest court in the land. The Supreme Court has ruled by a 4-3 vote to not interfere with the state-level judge’s decision. Bill Cosby will remain a free man.

TMZ shared a statement from Bill Cosby’s spokesperson, Andrew Wyatt. The Cosby family are grateful and relieved. They believe an injustice has been righted.

“On behalf of Mr. & Mrs. Cosby and the Cosby family, we would like to offer our sincere gratitude to the justices of the United States Supreme Court for following the rules of law and protecting the Constitutional Rights of ALL American Citizens of these United States. Mr. Cosby’s Constitutional Rights were a ‘reprehensible bait and switch’ by Kevin Steele, Judge Steve T. O’Neill and their cohorts.

This is truly a victory for Mr. Cosby but it shows that cheating will never get you far in life and the corruption that lies within Montgomery County District’s Attorney Office has been brought to the center stage of the world. Thank you very much.”

Bill Cosby was convicted of aggravated indecent assault in 2018 after allegedly drugging a woman and forcing himself on her. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that Cosby had his right to due process violated. There was a deal in place not to prosecute Cosby if he sat for a deposition in an unrelated case. The technicality means that Bill Cosby will walk free for the remainder of his days.
