Benedict Cumberbatch reacts to rumors that Doctor Strange 2 will introduce Illuminati. Not much is known about the plot of the movie but the first trailer of the movie gives fans an idea of what to expect from the blockbuster.

Marvel Studios introduced the first footage of the movie via Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s post-credits scene. However, it was during Super Bowl LVI that its first trailer was released. The trailer was full of interesting scenes but did not really have a context. Not to mention the studio’s habitual liking for editing marketing footage, it’s difficult to understand what is going on in the film.

Cumberbatch was asked about this by Entertainment Tonight at the SAG Awards 2022. He was reluctant to give details with his answer. However, he did ensure that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is “a feast. It’s a Sam Raimi special. It’s got everything it says in the title and a lot more besides.”

“It’s the beginning of all of this, isn’t it? I kind of escaped it with Spider-Man because we were doing reshoots for Strange, I couldn’t do the tour. Poor Tom [Holland] and [Zendaya and Jacob Batalon] and everyone else had to go, ‘Yeah. Haven’t heard about that’ and just sort of deny everything.”

For those who don’t know, Illuminati is a group of extremely intelligent superheroes who make decisions on important issues in Marvel Comics. The original team has Iron Man, Black Panther, Namor, Professor X, Black Bolt, Mister Fantastic, and Doctor Strange.

Many believe that Marvel Studios is adapting a version of this roster to the MCU via Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In the trailer, the tease of Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier is potentially the biggest clue supporting rumors that Marvel Studios has Tenoch Huerta as Namor and John Krasinski as Reed Richards and Tom Cruise could play a variant of Iron Man.

There has been no word from Marvel Studios so fat and given all these fans are getting attached to the idea of the introduction of Illuminati.

Illuminati is not the only thing to be excited about in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. There are a lot of parts in the film which are very moving. Other interesting things in the movie include the growing conflict between Doctor Strange and Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen). In the trailer the newly introduced character, Scarlet Witch calls out the double standards between her and her fellow magic wielder.

No wonder the film is going to be full of twists and burns! Are you excited to watch it? Let us know in the comments below.
