Sean Penn Is In Ukraine Filming Documentary On Russian Invasion

The world’s attention is focused on Ukraine, which has been invaded by Russia. However, Sean Penn is in the midst of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, making a documentary that Ukrainians claim will reveal the truth about what’s going on.

Sean showed up in Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, on Thursday after the Russians invaded and Ukraine’s administration claims Penn is there to film the bloodshed. Sean is shown “courage and honesty,” according to the Ukrainian President’s Office, qualities that many western politicians lack.

Sean attended a news conference in Kyiv on Thursday, when he listened to government officials. According to the Ukrainians, Sean also met with the media and the military to learn how the Ukrainians are defending themselves.

Since last year, the 61-year-old “Dead Man Walking” star has reportedly been working on a documentary about the country’s increasing tensions, and traveled to Ukraine early this week to get a firsthand look at the conflict.

It seems like Sean has a lot to cover in his documentary. However, Russia is launching an all-out assault on Ukraine, dropping bombs and forcing people to flee their homes. President Zelensky adds, “The more such people in our country now, true friends of Ukraine, who support the struggle for freedom, the sooner it will be possible to stop Russia’s treacherous attack.”
