Anthony Davis has been the most injury-prone of the Los Angeles Lakers this year. Davis suffered an ugly injury to his ankle on Wednesday night. Initial reports were that he had a sprain and would miss a couple of weeks. That situation has now changed.

The Lakers have struggled to establish team chemistry all season. They are currently in a fight for their playoff lives. The loss of Davis was bad enough. The additional time tacked on to recover could be devastating.

NBA insider Shams Charania reported that Davis has been diagnosed with a mid-foot sprain. Anthony will be re-evaluated in four weeks. That is a month longer than the Lakers can afford to go without their star big man.
