Las Vegas Raiders and Derek Carr had an incredible season. After surprisingly making it into the playoffs, their season ended with a loss to Cincinnati Bengals, they made an impression nonetheless.

Carr himself has had some great games this season, and with a little bit of effort, he might end up as one of the premier quarterbacks in the league. As reports suggest, Carr is looking to make a bank, of course. Hence, heading into the offseason, he is looking to get an extension.

Any type of extension for Raiders quarterback Carr would reportedly be $40 million-plus, per season. Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review Journal provided the following report on Carr:

“As it relates to Derek Carr and the Raiders, the sense is no proposals have been exchanged yet on an extension.”

“You’ll see various numbers being thrown around, but, as I’ve been reporting, any extension would likely be in the $40m per season range.”

Las Vegas Raiders were led to their first playoff appearance since 2016 by quarterback Derek Carr. Raider’s quarterback was apparently seeking $35 million-plus per season; reporter Jordan Schultz tweeted earlier on Tuesday.

The Raiders have an option to give Carr the franchise tag, but it is reported that there is an expectation of moving things rather quickly in the near future relating to a short-term extension.

The NFL offseason is certainly becoming something to look forward to in March.
