Seth Rogen has been in the industry for a long time. The comedic actor has made people laugh with his sense of humor for years. Recently, Seth made a very unusual claim regarding the Academy Awards.

It appears Seth will miss out on the opportunity to host the Oscars this year after he claimed “people don’t care” about the Academy Awards anymore. The Pineapple Express star offered his dismal opinion about the film honors to Insider.

He told the outlet, ‘I don’t get why movie people care so much if other people care what awards we give ourselves,’ He added, ‘To me, maybe people just don’t care. I don’t care who wins the automobile awards.’ He then justified his statement with ‘No other industry expects everyone to care about what awards they shower upon themselves.’

‘Maybe people just don’t care. Maybe they did for a while and they stopped caring. And why should they?’

Meanwhile, the Oscars have suffered from declining viewership in the last few years. The awards even avoided the traditional host format for the event for several rent telecasts. This year, however, the Academy Awards will return to a hosted format but who the host will be remains a mystery.

The 94th Academy Award nominations were announced on Tuesday morning with The Power Of The Dog and Dune earning the most nominations. Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan announced the nominations across 23 categories from an early morning virtual in Los Angeles ahead of the ceremony on March 27.
