Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather Called A Fake Fight By Khabib Nurmagomedov

Conor McGregor remains one of the most well known MMA fighters in the history of combat sports and his accolades over the years speak for themselves. The Notorious is also known to trash talk often, with varied results.

While Conor McGregor has backed up his trash talks in the past, more often than not, they have also resulted in embarrassing defeats for him. McGregor also doesn’t hold any title in the UFC.

Floyd Mayweather is regarded as one of the greatest professional boxers to have ever stepped foot inside a boxing ring and has been credited for bringing life to other combat sports as well. This includes his high profile boxing match against Conor McGregor a few years ago, which changed the combat sports world as we know it.

While speaking on the Full Send podcast, Khabib Nurmagomedov talked about his rivalry with Conor McGregor. Khabib stated that McGregor’s fight against Mayweather while a historic fight. Khabib then claimed that their boxing match was a fake fight and nothing more.

”For sure, this is biggest fight in history of martial arts. You know, nothing close. I think even when he fight with Mayweather it’s like okay. But not many people care about this fight.

It was like historical event; you know like MMA champion vs. boxing champion… but inside the fight, like many people, they don’t even remember what happened inside the fight… Most of the people don’t remember, they don’t remember because it was just like sparring fight.

For me, it was not real fight because this guy not real boxer, and Mayweather like what he did. For me, it was like more fake fight. This just my opinion, maybe, maybe not. But like and then, what was between us, it was real.”

Conor McGregor previously hinted at moving to the welterweight division once he returns to the Octagon. We will have to wait and see what will be in store for McGregor when he returns this year.
