Conor McGregor remains one of the most well known MMA fighters in the history of combat sports and his accolades over the years speak for themselves. The Notorious is also known to trash talk often, with varied results.
While Conor McGregor has backed up his trash talks in the past, more often than not, they have also resulted in embarrassing defeats for him. McGregor also doesn’t hold any title in the UFC.
UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman and Conor McGregor certainly have beef with one another and it has been well documented. McGregor previously called out Usman for copying his moves and words and also called him a ‘juice head.’
While speaking on the True Geordie Podcast, Kamaru Usman talked about McGregor’s trash-talking ways and how it came to bite him back after his loss at the hands of Dustin Poirier. Usman stated that McGregor’s losses are always thrown in his face.
“My daddy used to always say, ‘Everybody loves the chair, but while they’re chairing they can’t make the move.’ That’s exactly what Conor (must feel like) and I know it. It’s tough. I know it’s hard being Conor (McGregor). I know it’s hard. I am a champion and I know how hard it is to be the champion now. I can’t imagine what Conor’s going through. That’s gotta be hard. You can’t do anything.
People can’t wait to move because now people are just waiting to rub it in your face. Of course you’ve got the money, you’ve got all this, you’ve got all that. But bro, you got knocked out in your last fight. And then you’re one in your last four or five fights, something like that. People can’t wait to throw that in your face. So yeah, it’s a tough life to lead.”
McGregor is slated to square off against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on July 11th in their third fight together. We will have to see if McGregor will win the fight or not. There is no doubt that McGregor will be mercilessly ridiculed should he lose the fight.
