Jen Shah took on criticism from fans after her appearance on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Reunion. She got dragged by fans over her outfit which they compared to “The Emperor’s New Groove” villain Yzma’s purple feathered frock.

The star has now clapped back at her critics. After a fan suggested the cartoon character served as Shah’s “fashion inspiration” for the event, the reality star didn’t hold back. She tweeted, “It was actually @iamcardib but I wouldn’t expect you to know that.”

The outfit did indeed take inspiration from Jean-Louis Sabaji gown worn by Cardi B at the 2021 American Music Awards last November. The dress is crafted from violet-colored velvet featuring bold feathery shoulders and dozens of chandelier-style crystal drops at the neckline.

However, plenty of fans did notice the similarities between Shah’s style and Cardi, but their remarks weren’t exactly encouraging. One user wrote on Fashion Bomb Daily’s comparison of the gowns, “That cannot be the same dress. Jen’s looks like the Fashion Nova version,” while another quipped “Looks better on Cardi,”

Although, Shah’s not the only “RHOSLC” housewife to catch flak for her reunion fashion choice. A viewer joked on Instagram, “I’m going to report Meredith to PETA for skinning Muppets,” referencing Meredith Mark’s teal feathered Christian Cowan suit.” while another wrote, “Was the theme ‘dress your worst?” Unlike Shah, Meredith has yet to respond to the comments.
