The 2021-22 season has not been really up to the mark for Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers. This can be easily put on the shoulders of LeBron James as he is their number 1. Now Anthony Davis is coming back and fans expect nothing less than wins.

Los Angeles Lakers’ Anthony Davis has missed roughly three weeks after suffering a sprain in the medial collateral ligament (MCL) of his left knee. He was spotted getting in some work before the Lakers‘ latest game, wearing a bulky brace on his injured left knee. We saw him jumping rope and going through basic shooting drills.

Dr. Rajpal Brar, who has a doctorate in physical therapy from Northern Arizona University, told us everything we need to know about Davis’ physical condition.

“This is a very positive indicator because it tells us he is progressing to a higher level of intensity and responding quite well. Although the team has said that he will be re-evaluated in the fourth week, the reality is, the physio and training staff are evaluating Davis daily and if he wasn’t responding well, he wouldn’t be on the court doing these activities. The next major step in his progression here will be doing that lateral, side-to-side movement. Once we see that, that’s when he is really going to be close to being cleared for a full return to activities”

Davis has missed more than a third of the team’s games this season, playing in just 27 of 41. When Davis has played, his production hasn’t been up to par for a player of his caliber. He’s averaging 23.3 ppg, which is on the lower end for Davis.

Fans thought they’d finally see LeBron James take a backseat and let Davis take the wheel after that The Bubble championship. Since then, Davis has played in just 63 of a possible 113 games. Most of his stats have taken a dip, and just watching him play, he looks like a different player.

Keep these points in mind as we’re very likely to get more footage of Davis’ activities in the coming days and week prior to an official statement from the club. The hope is that he will continue to progress and respond well to activities and get cleared for a full return next week.
