Betty White passed away at 99-years-old, just over two weeks away from her 100th birthday. Her passing was one of the worst ways to end one year and start a new. She will be missed throughout entertainment, even pro wrestling.

AEW is airing on TBS for the first time this week. Prior to their show kicking off, They aired a graphic on the screen to thank the First Lady of Television.

No, Betty White never appeared on AEW Dynamite, but she was on RAW. Paul Wight, Billy Gunn and others who work in AEW met Betty White during that appearance and had an amazing experience with the legend of entertainment.

AEW’s tribute to Betty White wasn’t extravagant, but they kept an image on the screen as fans filed into the Prudential Center. Around a cartoon graphic of White’s smiling face, AEW inserted text that said, “Thank you for being a friend.” That famous line from the Golden Girls theme song might be the only part of the song that anyone knows, but it still means the world to so many.

Betty White’s passing hit everyone in a big way, and AEW paid tribute to her tonight. We can only imagine how long Vince McMahon would entertain the thought of doing the same thing.

RIP Betty White.

Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
