Jax Taylor cut ties with “Vanderpump Rules,” but you’d never know it from watching the Bravo reality show’s current season. The former SUR bartender and his wife, Brittany Cartwright, left “Vanderpump Rules” in December 2020, just before the show’s ninth season premiered. Taylor had been a cast member since the show’s premiere in 2013.

Despite the fact that he is no longer a cast member, Taylor has been mentioned several times this season. He has also made several cameos via bits of old material, including surveillance footage.

Ariana Madix revealed on the December 28 episode of “Vanderpump Rules” that she saw Taylor on security cameras outside her Valley Village, California house. She spotted Jax sneaking on the property to return a signed piece of martial arts memorabilia that her boyfriend, Tom Sandoval, had given him as a gift.

“The last time I saw [Jax] was him dropping off the samurai sword gift from Tom via my security camera. I open the front door and there was just this case laying there And it was the case that the ninja sword came in that Tom had given Jax for his birthday signed by Randy Jackson because he loves the Step Brothers movie.”

For the past several years, Taylor and Sandoval have had a strained and nearly nonexistent relationship, but his decision to return a present surprised even him. Fans reacted to the unexpected “Vanderpump Rules” sequence that featured a blurred-out Taylor creeping onto Sandoval’s doorstep on social media.
