Aaron Rodgers made the news quite a bit lately, and all because he decide to toy with the idea of retirement. It seemed like the NFL star was no longer interested in playing for the Green Bay Packers, and if he wasn’t traded, he was just going to walk away. All that changed when the controversial quarterback returned to the gridiron after all.

The Packers are 12-3 on the season and they are likely going to end up with the bye in the NFC. There is motivation to accept this group will end up going to the Super Bowl. This means Rodgers still has plenty of gas left in the tank. However, Rodgers still has retirement on his mind.

While speaking to reporters, Rodgers said that he has a lot to think about at the end of the season. This is because he wants to go out at the top of his game, instead of turning into a bum.

“I’m just enjoying this season for this season, and playing next year will definitely be in the thought process,”

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that should the Packers not trade him, Rodgers might just call it a career. If he does this, he would have to re-pay upwards of $23 million worth of bonuses, which is certainly a huge downside to retirement. The quarterback played some of the best football of his career after getting blown out against the Saints.

As of now, Packers fans can continue to enjoy this season for what it is. Hopefully, it will end with a Super Bowl title.
