The Once Upon A Time In L.A. Festival took place at Exposition Park in Los Angeles on Saturday. Unfortunately, the event was marred by a fight that took place backstage and ended in tragedy.

One of the performers at the event, Drakeo the Ruler was stabbed in the neck. Drakeo was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but unfortunately, he succumbed to the injury.

Snoop Dogg was among those set to perform at the event. Unfortunately, these events unfolded before Snoop could take the stage, and the backstage area of the venue had been cordoned off by the police by 9:20 p.m.

The festival had been promptly shut down, and no explanations had been provided at the time. Snoop himself had also fled the venue following the stabbing. On Sunday, the rapper took to Instagram to explain the situation to his fans.

Last night I was in my dressing room when I was informed about the incident and chose to immediately leave the festival grounds.

Snoop, along with several other fellow musicians, offered his condolences to those affected by the tragedy, along with a prayer for peace in hip hop. Out throughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of Drakeo, and may he rest in peace. Check out Snoop’s post below.
