TLC reality show “90 Day Fiancé” has become a bit of a cultural phenomenon in the last couple of years. One of the more memorable people to be featured on the show was season 2’s Jason Hitch. Unfortunately, Jason’s sister, Shannon has shared the news of his passing.

Shannon stated to TMZ that Jason passed away Tuesday night inside the ICU of a Florida hospital, as a result of complications from COVID-19. Shannon also stated that while Jason was not vaccinated, he also did not have preexisting medical conditions, to the family’s knowledge.

Jason appeared on the show’s second season in 2014, and was married to Cássia Tavares, who was from Brazil, and had moved in with Jason and his father. Jason and Cássia had separated in 2017, and divorced in 2018.

The late reality TV star was a United States Army veteran and served as first lieutenant in the Army reserves in Florida. Shannon described him as a “true and honest shooter, a great officer and leader to his men.” Shannon also shared that Jason was with his family in his final moments, and passed away holding their hands.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jason’s family in these difficult times, and may Jason rest in peace.
