Zendaya has been the subject of a lot of recent Spider-Man fan speculation. Many believe she’s destined to play Spider-Woman in the MCU. Spider-Man: No Way Home marks her third appearance in the series as MJ.
Zendaya was recently asked if she was mad that she’s not Spider-Woman in a bit on Jimmy Kimmel Live. She said her time with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man made her realize it’s a bit too physical for her. She’d rather pass, according to Screen Rant.
“You know, I can’t say that I’m mad. If there’s anything that I’ve learned it’s that, you know, superheroing isn’t always that easy. So I’m good.”
Spider-Woman is scheduled to make an appearance in the animated Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse. Zendaya is not providing that voice. In the comic book canon, MJ doesn’t become Spider-Woman.
There has been a ton of wild speculation regarding Spider-Man: No Way Home. Given the vast complexity of the Spiderverse, it’s no wonder. Fans have plenty of material to sink their teeth into.
The new movie releases in theaters on December 17, 2021. It’s been a long time coming. Sony Pictures is trying to enhance the fan experience by encouraging people not to spoil the movie for others.
