The ugly divorce proceeding between Nicole Young and Dr. Dre continues to escalate. According to court documents, Nicole wants the judge to deny Dr. Dre’s request for a delay in their upcoming divorce. The latest snag is whether the prenuptial agreement the couple signed is valid.

According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, Nicole says she did sign a prenup before the couple were married in 1996. She also says that later into the marriage, Dre tore it up. Dr. Dre denies this allegation.

Dr. Dre’s estate is worth an estimated $1 billion. That’s a huge amount of money. Nicole says she only has $1 million in the bank and that will soon be drained by ongoing legal fees. She’s recently asked that Dre pony up $4 million to pay for her lawyers.

The documents claim that Dre has been living an extravagant lifestyle. Nicole claims he has spent over $7 million per month in the last five months. This includes purchases of fine art and other lavish lifestyle expenses.

“As it stands right now, the only financial resource Nicole has is the spousal support she receives from Andre, whereas Andre has unfettered access to $183 Million in cash accounts, which he unabashedly uses to fund his luxurious lifestyle, including extravagant purchases of fine art (in the last 5 months, he has spent over $7 Million per month).”

The judge has not yet ruled on whether the trial will go forward as planned. As Dr. Dre’s legal team continues to try and stall while they strengthen their defense, money could soon dry up for Nicole. The contentious divorce is coming closer and closer to a conclusion, but it hasn’t been pretty at all.
