A substitute teacher from Texas decided to treat his students to a karaoke version of Britney Spears “Toxic.” Unfortunately his entertainment idea ended up getting his boots.

The sub was assigned to the students at Bowie High School. At some point during teaching, he dimmed the lights and took out a karaoke machine. The teacher brought the karaoke inventory from home thinking it would be a cool icebreaker.

It was followed by a light show entertainment as he exercised his vocal cords. His efforts were not well received. The performance did not go as per his expectations.

Students at the school immediately dismissed him saying that he wasn’t following best practices. They did not find the idea to be entertaining at all. The sub however was unable to read the mood of the room and continued with his “…Baby One More Time” performance.

The school district found it hilarious that the teacher was not arrested. A school spokesman passed one funny comment:

“I’ve heard worse Britney Spears covers, but the lights are a bit much.”

“Toxic” has been a staple at karaoke joints for the last 15 years. But is this the first time its karaoke received the boot? Sound off in the comments!
