Nate Diaz remains one of the most legitimate fighters to have ever stepped foot inside the Octagon. Diaz last competed against Jorge Masvidal for the “BMF” title at UFC 244 back in November 2019. He lost the match via doctor’s stoppage, but he is far from finished in the fight game. Diaz also has lofty ambitions after retiring from MMA.

At UFC 263, Nate Diaz finally made his return to the Octagon as he squared off against Leon Edwards. Unfortunately for Diaz, his return didn’t quite go the way that he wanted to as Diaz lost the fight. Nate Diaz had also made it clear that he wants to compete in the Octagon again within the next three to four months.

Many fans also wonder what will become of Nate Diaz in the UFC as he only has one more match left in his contract. Currently, his future in the company remains uncertain.

While speaking to MMA News, Colby Covington talked about potentially squaring off against Nate Diaz. Covington made it clear that he doesn’t believe Nate Diaz will ever accept a fight against him because Covington will annihilate Diaz.

“I don’t think Nate’s going to fight. He’s only got one fight on his contract so of course he’s not going to accept me on the last fight of his contract. I’ll annihilate that guy.

I’ll leave for him literally dead, he’ll have nothing left in the tank. I know he wants to get out of his UFC contract so he can go make some money elsewhere. So, there’s no chance either of those guys will fight me.”

UFC President Dana White also hinted that Nate Diaz might be too old to fight in the UFC. We will have to wait and see who Nate Diaz’s next opponent will be in the end.
