Jon Jones is one of the most popular fighters in the history of the UFC. For the past few months, Jones had made it his life’s mission to go after Francis Ngannou’s UFC Heavyweight Championship. Jones has also been on a mission to get paid.

Jones also previously stated that he wants to be a champion in 2022. The former UFC light heavyweight champion recently announced that he’ll be making a return to fighting and it is likely taking place at an event of Fury Grappling.

Jones previously called out all the ‘big boys’ of the Heavyweight division as he is certainly looking for a fight. However, it is unlikely to be with AEW star Jake Hager in the end.

While speaking on “‎Throwing Down with Renee & Miesha, AEW star Jake Hager talked about his potential fight against Jon Jones. He stated that things went quiet on Jones’ end after Hager denied a grappling match between the two was set.

“I don’t know what’s going on because I’m training. I’m ready. As far as I know, it’s on, and then it got quiet on his end. I don’t know if he saw my resume and said, ‘Oh, this is an Oklahoma country boy. I don’t want to wrestle him.’

Maybe he saw I wrestled for AEW and he got a little scared. Everybody wants to work for AEW, so maybe he wants to get a job. So I’m wondering, ‘Jon, come out of hiding. Prove that your still the G.O.A.T. and I’ll put in a good word with Tony (Khan) for you.’”

Jon Jones has had a tumultuous 2021, to say the least, especially with his recent domestic violence arrest. It remains to be seen who Jon Jones’ first opponent will be once he returns to the MMA world.
