The 39-year-old rapper Boosie Badazz is taking a trip back to school. This comes off the heels of a ton of homophobic controversy.

In a video posted to Instagram, Boosie announced that he’s enrolling in Mississippi’s Jackson State next semester. A video posted by Deion Sanders Jr., a playing member of the Jackson State University football team, Boosie can be heard expressing his feelings of going back to college.

‘I Wanna Feel Normal, I Miss That Part Of My Life’

In his video, Boosie said, “I’ve been coming to Jackson since I was 14, and I love y’all. Y’all love my stanky drawers and I love y’all back. And I just wanted to tell y’all that y’all always been supportive of me and it’s a big secret I wasn’t going to let it out, but I’m enrolling in Jackson State next semester.”

In the video shot by Deion Sanders Jr., Boosie further explains, “I’m going to see how it feels to walk around the campus, talk to girls, with a book sack on. I want to feel normal. I miss that part of my life.” The Wipe Me Down singer and rapper further added, “So I want to enroll and be able to walk down the thing and go to class and try my brain because I still have matter up there that need’s to be explored.”

The rapper is said to have received his GED certificate back in 2013 while incarcerated. In 2009, he was jailed for drug abuse and firearm charges. Lil Boosie was then released in 2014.

One man tweeted- “Jackson State U having boosie at this r half time show is a slap in the face to every gay student they have. @JacksonStateU disrespectful, that man has wished death on to gay people.” A Twitter user even expressed their concern about students from the LGBTQ+ community being attending the JSU, with the Louisiana native being there at the same time.

While several people appreciated the rapper for taking a step to gain further education, others mocked the decision by invoking Boosie’s well-known phrases. A few tweets were also aimed at Jackson State University and Lil Boosie about his public homophobic views. What’s your take on his decision? Do sound off in the comments!

In search of simplicity and inner peace, Gunjan is basically a guy soldiering through his paranoia. You could say Art, Witty/Dark Humor, Movies, Anime, Post-rock/Black Metal/Hip-Hop/Shoegaze Music, Football, Creative Writing, Photography, Videography are his forte. A Jack of All Trades and a Master of Many. Dangerously bipolar. He can go on months without being productive and also work 12 hours straight. He's basically a lazy, procrastinating person. But if art and ideas hit him like sudden motivational sparks, he can invest sleepless nights on that. Drive to creating art: Sometimes guilt and inferiority complex. Sometimes sudden spikes of motivation seeing artists like yuumei, bosslogic, Kim Jung gi amongst others. Gunjan loves doing scribble art the most. It defines him. He says - 'It's like I'm lost and hoping to find a way out at the end. Expressing my chaotic, spontaneous mind, looking for inner peace in those infinite entanglements I create.' He loves to let the ink flow, losing control, losing myself completely in the act.' Once he was asked - 'why this constant urge of being good at everything? You are great at the things you do best. You don't have to be a master of every art. ' To that he replied - 'because that's how I work. I just don't like this idea of stopping at what I have already achieved. Limitations disgust me. I believe in becoming a jack of all trades and a master of many, plus this innate ability of being good at what I try doing and this upper hand of being a fast learner. I want to master all kinds of musical instruments, sports, forms of art.' He invests in ideas, brainstorming, creativity, flexibility, originality. Professionally however, he is that regular ‘IT guy’. He previously worked on roles such as Full Stack Engineer, Frontend Developer, UX/UI Designer, Digital Artist and Data Analyst. He is willing to use his flexibility and adaptability, coupled with the innate ability of being an extremely fast learner to use his words and wisdom here at Thirsty For News. Fun fact: He is obsessed with huskies, number "7", Germany, Japan, football, Naruto, Breaking Bad, cinema (in a broader perspective) Tldr: In search of simplicity and inner peace.
