Rockmond Dunbar has been ousted from “9-1-1” over his anti-vaccine stance, according to TMZ. Fans were left stunned when it was revealed his character had been written off during this week’s episode of the Fox drama series.

“9-1-1” is a Disney TV Studio 20th Television production. Showrunners have made vaccination shots mandatory for all crew and cast members on the show. That applied to Rockmond as well who apparently did not want to be vaccinated.

The 48-year-old released a statement following his departure wherein he stated his reason for not getting COVID shots. “I applied for religious and medical accommodations pursuant to the law and unfortunately was denied by my employer,” he said.

He continued, “My sincerely held beliefs and private medical history are very intimate and personal aspects of my life that I do not publicly discuss and have no desire to start now.”
