Conor McGregor remains one of the most well known MMA fighters in the history of combat sports and his accolades over the years speak for themselves. The Notorious is also known to trash talk often, with varied results. It seems McGregor might already have his next opponent.
While Conor McGregor has backed up his trash talks in the past, more often than not, they have also resulted in embarrassing defeats for him. McGregor also doesn’t hold any title in the UFC.
While speaking to TMZ Sports, UFC star Max Holloway talked about Conor McGregor making his return to the UFC. Holloway was asked what will be next for him after his fight against #3 ranked Yair Rodriguez.
Holloway claimed that he is on the shortlist of opponents for Conor McGregor once McGregor returns to the Octagon.
“I’m on a short list for Conor McGregor. Always on a short list for that fight. I’m the best boxer in the UFC.
My name always comes up. I can’t wait. I can’t wait. It’d be a fun one for sure. Maybe it’s not even at T-Mobile Arena, maybe something at Raiders stadium.”
We will have to wait and see what shape Conor McGregor will be in once he returns to the Octagon. McGregor is expected to be out of action for a year as he is set on returning as soon as possible. Perhaps Holloway will become his first opponent.
