Ed Sheeran recently tested positive for COVID-19 heading into a big appearance as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. The Irish singer took to social media today to ensure his throngs of fans that he’s doing just fine and will still make his scheduled appearance.

Sheeran was released from COVID isolation just days before his performance was set to take place. He said on Instagram he’s got the all-clear to go ahead with his guest appearance on SNL. Fans were concerned he might not be able to get cleared in time for the show.

“Posting this pic to say I’m released from covid isolation today, so if you see me out and about I’ve had the all clear and done my quarantine. Excited to hit the ground running with work again, and SNL is still on, so tune in Saturday, see you there x”

Sheeran recently responded to critics of his cameo appearance on the HBO hit Game of Thrones. He’s been doing the media rounds to promote his new album, =. The SNL appearance was clearly set to be a key part of that promotion. The album has landed two Billboard Hot 100 hits.

After his promotional tour ends, Sheeran will hit the stage. He embarks on an extensive tour that kicks off next Spring in Europe and the UK. Fans will be excited to see Ed Sheeran get back to work and performing again.
