TMZ is reporting that TV host and comedian Howie Mandel was rushed to a local hospital after passing out while picking up a coffee. The “Deal or No Deal” host and podcaster was there with his wife and some friends on Wednesday when he suddenly passed out.

After falling down, the bystanders helped to lay him out on a cement bench. It wasn’t long before paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived.

TMZ is reporting that by the time the ambulance arrived, Mandel was in better shape. Their source says he was able to sit up on his own by the time help arrived.

Mandel is a regular at this Starbucks location. Customers who were there were familiar with him as well.

The report from TMZ notes that sources close to Mandel believe that the episode was caused by low blood sugar. Doctors are currently evaluating and testing Mandel.

It sounds like he’s going to be OK, thankfully. Kudos to the friends and first responders who helped in this very scary situation!
