Six years since her last full-length release, Adele is finally ready to share her new music with the world. A Twitter post by Columbia Records, Adele’s record company, revealed what appears to be cover art and a personal note to fans. She’d been teasing a new release recently.

In the letter, Adelle discussed how her life has been going in the lead-up to the anticipated release. She described the making of the album as “the most turbulent period of my life.”

“I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hoped to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago. Quite the opposite actually. I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe. I always have. And yet there I was knowingly—willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil!”

The English singer with the haunting, soulful voice seems to be coming back into form. As we reported, she recently went public with a new romance with sports agent Rich Paul.

In an interview with British Vogue, Adele opened up about how her divorce inspired the new record. She spoke about how her son brought things into perspective.

“My son has had a lot of questions. Really good questions, really innocent questions, that I just don’t have an answer for. ‘Why can’t you still live together?’ I just felt like I wanted to explain to him, through this record, when he’s in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness. It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to heal.”

It sounds like this will be a very personal album, and Adele’s fans are certainly here for it. The first single, “Easy On Me,” comes out on Friday, October 15.
