Zendaya has revealed she wore a “bunch of stuff” from Target to her first red carpet premiere. In an interview with InStyle for their November cover, the 25-year-old said she made her first red carpet appearance at the age of 14.

“When I was 14 and at my first movie premiere, my outfit was a bunch of stuff that I had from Target. And I thought I was fly. I felt cool,” she said, ““To this day, I think that’s really all that matters. Then you know you’re doing the right thing,” she added.

The Spiderman: No Way Home star is known for her versatile fashion sense and her dazzling red carper appearances. Today, she’s one of the most sought-after celebrities on the planet. But the young actress once struggled with finding stylists earlier in her career.

Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach spoke to The Hollywood Reporter back in 2020 about the Dune star’s earlier encounters with luxury labels. Roach said: “Now that everybody wants to dress her, I go back and I say ‘Not this season!’”

Obviously, Zendaya isn’t sporting Target on the red carpet now, but there’s no shame in getting the job done and saving some cash while you’re at it.
