The years-long public spat between Hollywood leading men Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson might finally be coming to an end, but don’t expect a warm and cuddly reunion. The superstar of screen and squared circle expressed regret for taking the feud public, but stopped short of backing off of his statements about his Furious co-star.

The Rock famously posted, and deleted, the following rant that really set their feud into high gear.

This is my final week of shooting Fast & Furious 8. There’s no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this ono An incredible hard waking crew. Universal Studios Entertainment has been great partners as well. My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ’em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others dont. The ones that don’t are too chicken sh*t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right. Bottom line is VI play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that’s embedded in my DNA extremely well. The producer in me is happy about this part. Final week on FAST 8 and I will finish strong.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, The Rock noted that it was a mistake to take his war of words with Diesel public. Johnson said that he only agreed to take part in The Fate of the Furious if he didn’t share any scenes with Diesel. “I wanted to forgo drama,” he told Vanity Fair.

After a now-deleted low-key criticism of Disel on Instagram during the filming of Fast 8 in 2016, he called his co-star unprofessional and a “Candy ass.” The former WWE champ noted that during some scenes in the film, his anger and aggression was not an act.

“I meant what I said,” Johnson defiantly told Vanity Fair. The box office king went on to clarify the reason for expressing his regret over the feud going public.

“I shouldn’t have shared that. Because at the end of the day, that goes against my DNA. I don’t share things like that. And I take care of that kind of bullsh*t away from the public. They don’t need to know that. That’s why I say it wasn’t my best day.”
