Dave Chappelle‘s Netflix special “The Closer” situation yet again still brewing with controversy. A trans employee was let go on account of criticizing the comedian for his insensitive comments.

Terra Field who tweeted their thoughts on the special on Twitter while being a Netflix employee, has reportedly undergone suspension, as per The Verge. Field took to Twitter and said:

We launched another Chappelle special where he attacks the trans community, and the very validity of transness — all while trying to pit us against other marginalized groups

Dave Chappelle is one of the most widely loved comedians who became practically ubiquitous in sketch comedy for his classic Chappelle show. He’s often been praised for his ability to poke, rather freely at extremely intense situations and joke about things, it would be next to impossible for most other comedians or writers to get away with most of the time.

Dodging lasers‘ as his skill is called by fellow comedians. Netflix tried to maintain neutrality on the situation. They pivoted slightly in Chapelle support stating that they don’t think anything Chapelle has said or done is in any way harmful or inflammatory, and as such is in no way objectional. Former GOT alum also spoke against Chapelle’s remarks on trans people.
