Jon Jones isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, especially if you’ve fought him in the Octagon. Rampage Jackson can attest to the fact that Jones isn’t the best opponent, because he’s a dirty fighter.

Whiles speaking to Calabasas Fight Companion, Jackson threw some serious shade at Jon Jones. He called out the fighter for playing dirty and taking tactics to gain an unfair advantage while doing his thing in the cage.

“He’s the dirtiest fighter, too. They had to change the rules because of him. When I fought him, whenever I was, like, have any type of advantage, he would put his fingers in my eye. Your eyeball is your weakest thing in your body, right? So when I was fighting him, he was like this (outstretched arm and fingers) the whole time. It’s hard to train for this, too.”

“He’d poke me in the eye, and then when you come in and advance, he’d kick your knee backwards. They should make that illegal. It was really hard fighting him. If anybody got any advantage on him, he was gonna kick your knee backwards, keep you away and he’s gonna figure that out.”

Odds are Jon Jones and Rampage Jackson won’t meet in the cage again, so that possibility is not happening, but you also never know when two paths in combat sports could intersect once again. If anything, Rampage will certainly keep his guard up for Jones’ dirty tricks.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
