After many years of harassment, torture and emotional abuse, Britney Spears spoke out against her father’s conservatorship a couple of months ago. Spears also previously stated that she is really looking forward to her conservatorship court date. She also squashed rumors of her being pregnant a while ago.
It was previously reported that Britney Spears doesn’t want to be scared to speak amid her conservatorship case. Britney Spears then addressed the drama of her conservatorship in a previous video.
Britney Spears also finally got her dogs back recently after a lot of struggle, where her father Jamie might have been involved for the most part. Jamie Spears previously agreed to step down from conservatorship but it seems there is more to this story than initially thought.
According to court documentation obtained by HollywoodLife, Britney and her team have accused Jamie of trying to extort her for nearly $2 million to leave the conservatorship. Britney’s lawyer, Matt Rosengart also released a statement regarding Jamie Spears’ unreasonable demands.
“Britney Spears will not be bullied or extorted by her father. As we wrote in our new filing with the Court, however, the quid pro quo preconditions that Mr. Spears’s sought in his August 12, 2021 court filing are inappropriate and unacceptable. Nor does Mr. Spears have the right to try to hold his daughter hostage by setting the terms of his removal. This is not about him, it is about the best interests of his daughter, which as a matter of law, mandate his removal. Even putting aside the legal issues requiring his prompt removal, if he loves his daughter, Mr. Spears should resign now, today, before he is suspended. It would be the correct and decent thing to do.”
We will have to wait and see what happens in the ongoing conservatorship case and hope Britney Spears will finally be free to live her life the way she sees fit. Her mental and physical well-being should take precedence over anything else, as far as she is concerned.
