The Fantastic 4 is getting another treatment after Marvel secured the rights. While casting hasn’t been made official yet, John Cena isn’t rejecting the idea of playing one of the franchise’s most memorable characters.

The 16x World Champion spoke to Esquire for a Q&A session when he was asked about the possibility of taking on the legendary role of The Thing in the Fantastic 4 reboot.

Cena knows enough about Hollywood at this point to realize that you can never say never, something he also learned from WWE. He is willing to consider any role offered to him, even if that means spending a ton of time in the makeup chair to play The Thing.

“I would consider most any-thing. I think keeping yourself open to options and different perspectives is a good way to go about life. This would simply be a thing that I would consider, because I like to keep my perspective open to new things.”

John Cena’s role as Peacemaker garnered quite a response and it got him an HBO Max spin-off series before The Suicide Squad could even wrap up production. Now Cena is on to his next role, and he might just make a dent in the MCU next time.

Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
