The combat sports world is still thriving as many fans anxiously await the next big event. UFC 265 went down over the weekend and we’re still getting news from the event. Derrick Lewis and many more received medical suspensions which will cost them precious time away from MMA.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) oversaw the event. MixedMartialArts reports that 26 suspensions were handed down in total. Those penalties range anywhere from a couple of weeks to two months out of the Octagon.

Derrick Lewis was the most high profile name included on the list, but he will only be out of action until September 7th. Ed Herman, Ode Osbourne and Anderson dos Santos were given the longest suspensions. No reason was given regarding any possible injuries that were omitted as well.

Dos Santos and Victoria Leonardo both competed in early prelim fights. It is feared that they suffered serious injuries. Dos Santos also told his cornerman that he might have suffered a broken leg in his fight against Miles Johns. Leonardo’s fight was stopped due to a broken arm.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
