John Cena is a 16-time World Champion and carried the company on his back throughout the PG era. From 2017 John Cena became a part-timer in WWE and has appeared sporadically due to his busy schedule in Hollywood. That could change after SummerSlam.

Cena made his return at the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view last month and since then has appeared on both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night Smackdown.

Many fans have criticized WWE for its reliance on older WWE Superstars to generate ratings while not making new stars as well.

While speaking to Brian Truitt of USA Today, John Cena admitted he wishes there was a fountain of youth so he could contribute more to WWE. Cena then expressed his concern over WWE’s stability in the future due to their reliance on ageing prospects.

“Man, I wish there was some sort of fountain of youth where I could be a full-time contributo. The longer they continue to bet on an aging prospect, that makes (WWE’s) future a little bit less stable. I used to chastise people for not working as efficiently as the WWE. And as a young man, I failed big. I was judgmental and I was apprehensive and I wanted to be back in the ring because I loved that immediate gratification.”

John Cena also made it clear he plans to stick around after the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view if he wins the WWE Universal Championship from Roman Reigns. We will have to wait and see how his match against Roman Reigns at WWE SummerSlam will be booked as we approach the pay-per-view and if he will end up winning the match or not.
