2018’s Aquaman starring Jason Momoa as Aquaman/Arthur Curry had a tremendous reception, both critically and commercially and was touted as one of the best films produced under the DCEU banner. It has earned over $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office, making it the most successful DCEU film currently.

The sequel to the film, Aquaman 2, will see Momoa reprise his role of Arthur Curry and also Amber Heard will be returning to portray Meera, which fans certainly aren’t too happy about. Willem Dafoe is also likely to return as Vulko.

Jason Momoa previously revealed that the film will start production this month as well and that he is involved in writing the script. The film requires him to be in the best physical shape possible and it seems Mamoa hasn’t really gotten to that aspect yet.

While speaking to Anthony Anderson on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, Jason Momoa revealed that he hasn’t even started getting in shape for the upcoming sequel. Momoa also revealed that he isn’t a fan of going to the gym.

“I do so much fighting … I’ve been trying to finish [the second season of See] so I haven’t had a chance to work out as much as I should and, you know, I’m flying out pretty soon. I’ll pull it together … I’m not a fan of [the gym]. I like doing rock climbing and surfing and there’s no surf up here [in Toronto] so I do [go to the gym] when the time’s right but I’ve been fighting so much and working hard … but I’ll get it together I promise”

Unlike Jason Momoa, Amber Heard has already started hitting the gym in preparation for the upcoming sequel film. The film is slated to release in December of 2022 and we will have to see if it will far surpass the original in every way.
