Scottie Pippen isn’t afraid to let it all out and he recently made some big accusations about against Phil Jackson. Now Jackson has several coming to his defense, including Stephen A Smith.

Pippen asserted that Jackson gave Steve Kukoc a game winning shot because he is white. That remark caused both Pippen and Jackson’s name to trend as a lot of fans called Pippen out for this bold statement.

A lot of Twitter users dragged Pippen a bit over that statement, and Stephen A Smith had a good amount to chime in with as well. He approached this subject with respect, but then grilled Pippen a bit during First Take for that statement about his former coach.

“I respect Scottie — six-time champion, all-time great player,” he said. “I think this is one of the stupidest, most idiotic things he’s ever said or done. … Twenty-seven years later, Phil Jackson’s a racist? The same Phil Jackson that coached you, that coached MJ? That coached guys like Bill Cartwright and B.J. Armstrong, and others, and Stacey King and all these guys? The same Phil Jackson that coached Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant?”

It’s really hard to call Phil Jackson a racist, but that is not what Scottie Pippen really said. He merely implied that there were racial reasons behind Jackson’s decision making process. People read between the lines in a hurry and are calling Scottie out because it is really hard to picture that statement as an accurate one.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
