John Cena Says WWE Doesn’t ‘Need’ Him Right Now

John Cena is undoubtedly one of the best Superstars to have ever stepped foot inside a WWE ring. He is a 16-time World Champion and was the face of the company for well over a decade. He hasn’t appeared in WWE in well over a year due to his busy schedule in Hollywood.

For a long time fans have been wondering whether Cena will be returning to the company or not. John Cena had previously stated that he can’t wait to wear jorts again, which certainly excited fans. John Cena doubled down on making his in-ring return in WWE after over a year away from the company as well recently.

While speaking to Complex News, John Cena admitted that the WWE doesn’t really need him. However, despite that, Cena is honored to perform inside the squared circle once again.

“I relate a lot of things to WWE, and this one falls directly in that line. What was it like to join the WWE locker room? WWE is already a global phenomenon, with or without John Cena, and that’s proven before I got there and certainly now that I’m not there anymore and they’re still thriving… they don’t need me. But it’s such an honor and a privilege to walk in that locker room and be able to go out and perform.”

John Cena’s return is likely to be next month with the return of live crowds in attendance for WWE shows. We will have to see how his return to the company will be received.
