Jeff Bezos is set for the trip of his life as the Amazon founder is going to outer space, beating out Elon Musk in a move that we’re sure irks the Tesla inventor a bit.

Bezos and his brother are set to go to outer space. They will be joined by the winner of a big auction for a seat on the New Shepard flight out of this world.

Jeff Bezos founded Blue Origin in 2000 and he wanted to reduce the cost of space travel. This called for improving safety and unlocking all of the potential that space offers. It might seem like a daunting task, but Bezos set off to accomplish just that.

Next month’s flight will only last about 11 minutes in space, so they’re not going to the moon. It will still mark a very important step for space travel and what is possible.

In his Instagram post, the Amazon head honcho said that he’s dreamt about going to space since he was five-years-old. Now he has unmentionable wealth and can pull that off for himself and his brother.

Ever since I was five years old, I’ve dreamed of traveling to space. On July 20th, I will take that journey with my brother. The greatest adventure, with my best friend.

We’re hoping that everything goes according to plan in this situation. That space flight will hold an incredibly influential person on board.

What’s your take on traveling through space? Would it make your morning commute faster? Sound off in the comments!

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
