Superbad is one of the most celebrated coming-of-age comedies in the history of cinema. Written by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg, the film features Michael Cera and Jonah Hill. The comedic pair play high school seniors looking for a lot of fun before they graduate and move on to their college lives.

As they’re both underage and cannot get legal access to booze, they recruit their socially awkward friend McLovin, who also acquires it illegally through the use of a fake ID. McLovin was not his real name and this was also a source of comedy fodder. He was not 27, based on his birth of date of 3rd of June, 1981.

As it is officially McLovin’s 40th fake birthday. Seth Rogen decided to join the fans of the film on social media to celebrate the fan-favorite character’s birthday. He took to Twitter and post:

Happy 40th birthday, McLovin (We wrote this joke when we were 14 years old)

While Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) wasn’t even 18 in the film, this plot device ended up driving most of the story. It also made the movie a lot more fun. Even though Superbad is 14 years old, it remains a timeless comedy still entertaining plenty of people.
