It’s awesome to have dedication to your team. Miami Dolphins star Lynn Bowden Jr. gave himself a tattoo to celebrate his dedication. It probably didn’t turn out as sick as he would have preferred.

Lynn Bowden Jr. showed off this ink to Go Long with Tyler Dunne. The wide receiver was very proud of his work. He did it himself, and that’s never easy.

The tattoo features the number 15 and a dolphin. Some fans have taken to grilling him for his homemade artistic effort. Getting a tattoo is a serious decision, because it lasts forever. Giving one to yourself is on another level.

He has a leg dedicated to practicing his ink, and he grabbed a tattoo gun while talking to Dunne. Then he proceeded to freehand a design that kind of looks like his team’s logo. He didn’t have any type of design to use as reference and did it by memory as well.

Here’s the bad part. That ink says 15, but that jersey number won’t last long. In late April, league owners approved a proposal to expand the pool of position numbers. Now far more players can get single digit numbers, and Bowden picked 6. Now he’ll have to give himself a new tattoo.

What do you think about Bowden’s new ink? Sound off in the comments!

With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
