Shaun Weiss, the actor who played the goalie Goldberg in Disney’s Mighty Ducks is not returning for the official roster for the reboot. While all his old buddies came back for the promotional material as well as an episode for the show, he isn’t back into the fold as of now.

Weiss didn’t get a call from Disney to come on board for the reboot but still hopes to get the call. The reboot will feature the likes of Elton Henson as Fulton, Vinny La Russo as Adam Banks, Matt Doherty as Averman, Marguerite Moreau as Connie, Justin Wong as Kenny Wu and Garrett Henson as Guy.

Even though Weiss really desires to get back into his old r0le, he isn’t too surprised to not have been involved, given that he has a criminal history. It is not that hard to assume why Disney would hesitate to cast an actor that has come back from the dark side.

The actor had a great struggle against addiction, went homeless, got arrested for possessing meth and burglary as well as dealt with lethal conditions. He recently finished one year sober.

The shooting for the first season has already been all done, with the OG Mighty Ducks all reunited for a reunion episode. Weiss is working on the role anyway, according to TMZ, as he has put on all his weight to match the appearance of Goldberg the goalie as well as started rehearsing as well.
